Jeff Francoeur

Former Professional Baseball Player, Broadcaster


Jeff Francoeur is a former professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for several teams, including the Atlanta Braves, where he is best known for his contributions. Born on January 8, 1984, in Atlanta, Georgia, Francoeur attended Parkview High School, where he gained recognition as a standout baseball player.

He was drafted by the Braves in the first round of the 2002 MLB Draft and made his MLB debut with the team in 2005. Known for his strong arm and powerful bat, Francoeur quickly became a fan favorite in Atlanta. He played for the Braves until 2009, showcasing his talent with notable seasons, including a breakout year in 2006 when he hit 29 home runs and drove in 103 RBIs.

After his time with the Braves, Francoeur played for several other teams, including the New York Mets, Texas Rangers, and the Philadelphia Phillies, before returning to the Braves in 2016 for a brief stint. Throughout his career, he was recognized for his defensive skills in the outfield and his engaging personality off the field.

Post-retirement, Francoeur has transitioned into broadcasting, serving as a color commentator for Braves games. His passion for the game and his connection to Atlanta continue to resonate with fans, making him a beloved figure in the baseball community.
